Yoga is a group of physical, mental, and spiritual practices or disciplines which originated in ancient India. Yoga is one of the six orthodox schools of Hindu Philosophical traditions. The beginning of yoga was developed by the Indus-Sarasvati civilization in Northern India over 5000 years ago.
Yoga is a sport because you put your mind to it and you need mental and physical training to do it. You put into practice like other sports and you train to your body can’t go any more. Anyone ever heard of heat yoga. People go in rooms that are like 100 degrees and do yoga and the last one standing in the room wins. Patanjali is often knows the father of yoga-sutras still strongly influence most styles of modern yoga. A few centuries after Patanjali, yoga masters created a system of practices designed to revivify the body and extended life.
